Delicately blended, mesmerising sounds of the didgeridoo, cello, piano, and effects
Composer, producer, multi-instrumentalist and vocalist, William Barton is widely recognised as one of Australia's leading didgeridoo players and composers. For two decades, William Barton has forged a peerless profile as a performer and composer in the classical musical world, from the Philharmonic Orchestras of London and Berlin to historic events at Westminster Abbey for Commonwealth Day 2019, Anzac Cove and the Beijing Olympics, it is no surprise William Barton holds a score of prestigious awards. With his prodigious musicality and the quiet conviction of his Kalkadunga heritage, he has vastly expanded the horizons of the didgeridoo — and the culture and landscape that it represents.
Under the moniker of “Two Deep Breaths”, Richard Vaudrey (Cello) and Ashley Hribar (Piano) form a formidable creative partnership. With international performance careers and a shared versatility in music making, Two Deep Breaths have created a fresh new classical ambient style, versatile in its appeal.
Be whisked away by the talented artforms of Two Deep Breaths, delicately blended with the mesmerising sounds of William Barton’s didgeridoo, a William Forster cello (1791), piano and effects. Enjoy a special guest appearance and duet from Aunty Delmae Barton.
This concert reflects the past, present, and future in a unique musical dialogue between powerful forms of cultural expression.
